The Ho Chi Minh City skyline has been reshaped following the frenetic development of the past decade. At street level, much of the past’s brick and mortar has been demolished to give rise to air-conditioned, steel and glass towers. With the global economic downturn, the appetite for construction is temporarily suppressed and lovers of heritage architecture can breathe a collective sigh of relief.

General information

Built in colonial style with low-rise French architectural design, the 4-star Victoria Chau Doc hotel blends perfectly with its natural surroundings. The hotel is located on the banks of the Bassac River crossing and is an ideal base to explore the fascinating Chau Doc region.

Hotel offers front seat views of the river habitat with its famous floating fish farming villages, floating markets and Cham villages.

Deep in the Mekong Delta, Chau Doc town is 280 km (174 miles) south-west of Ho Chi Minh City close to the Cambodian border. Being in such close proximity to Cambodia, the region has been nurturing the eclectic mix of Cham, Khmer, Chinese and VietNamese cultures for decades. Linking Chau Doc and Phnom Penh, Victoria Speedboats are the ideal means to cruise the Mekong river. The journey takes 5 hours from Chau Doc to Phnom Penh.
